The bullion cap badge features an American Eagle (with red tongue), Crossed anchors and USVLSC around the central circle.
Overall condition is very good, with expected toning on the white exterior and some separation of the hat band and sweat band at the rear of the cap. Heavy high quality pressed leather visor with "scrambled egg" gilt bullion wire embroidery to the top.

The USVLSC existed in fifteen states where there were no federally-run life-saving stations and acted to supplement the U. S. Life Saving Service. It eventually merged with the Revenue Cutter Service (Massachusetts) to from the United States Coast Guard.
